Reaching Terre dei Ghelfi is simple and enjoyable, whatever means of transport you choose. Whether you arrive by car, train, plane or even helicopter, our resort is easily accessible and perfectly connected. On this page, you will find all the detailed information you need to plan your journey to Terre dei Ghelfi.

By car

Terre dei Ghelfi Country Resort is located in Castagneto Carducci, in a position that is easily reachable by car from Germany, Switzerland and France.
Travellers arriving from Germany can choose the simplest route via Austria: after Innsbruck and the Brenner Pass, continue on the A22 to Modena, then take the A1 towards Florence and finally the A12 towards Livorno, exiting at Rosignano. From there, simply follow the SS1 Aurelia to Donoratico.
If you are coming from Switzerland, the most convenient route is via the Gotthard and Chiasso: once in Italy, continue towards Milan, then follow the A15 Cisa to La Spezia and the A12 to Rosignano. Travelling from Geneva is equally easy: cross the Mont Blanc Tunnel, head down towards Aosta and Turin, then take the A1 and later the A12 to the Rosignano exit.
Visitors travelling from France can follow the coastline via Nice and Ventimiglia, continuing on the A10 and then the A12 to Rosignano. Alternatively, from Lyon or northern France, it is just as convenient to cross the Mont Blanc Tunnel and follow the main routes A5, A4, A1 and A12 towards Tuscany.
In all cases, once you reach Rosignano Marittimo and the SS1 Aurelia, the exit is always Donoratico. From there, the road gently climbs toward Castagneto Carducci: in just a few minutes, surrounded by vineyards and olive trees, you will arrive at Podere Marconi 182, the entrance to our resort.

By aeroplane or helicopter

Terre dei Ghelfi is easily reachable from the main airports of Tuscany.
The closest airports are Pisa International Airport (PSA), about 50 minutes away, and Florence Airport (FLR), about one hour and forty-five minutes away. Alternatively, Bologna (BLQ) and Rome Fiumicino (FCO) are also convenient options, especially for international flights.

For guests who prefer to be escorted, we can arrange a private transfer from the airport directly to the resort, tailored to your schedule and needs. For those who wish to drive independently, we work with a trusted car rental partner who can deliver the vehicle directly to the airport upon arrival or to the resort at check-in.

Travelling by helicopter? Please inform us in advance: our estate has a private helipad, allowing for a fast, safe and exclusive arrival.

Thanks to our partnership with I AM Unico, we can arrange helicopter transfers to and from any destination: airports, Italian cities, coastal locations or fully customised routes.

By train

Reaching Terre dei Ghelfi by train is simple and pleasant. The nearest station is Donoratico–Castagneto, located on the Tyrrhenian line with easy connections from Pisa, Florence, Livorno, Rome and La Spezia.

The resort is about 10 minutes from the station. On request, we can organise a private transfer that will take you directly to the resort at your preferred time.
For guests who prefer to drive independently, our trusted partner can deliver a rental car directly to the station, ensuring a smooth and comfortable continuation of your journey.
